Gerardo Guilarte is an M.D. candidate at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health and serves as the 2025-2026 Research Fellow under Sonal Choudhary, MD, at UPMC Dermatology in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. His work centers on investigator-initiated dermatology research and educational initiatives, with experience in study development, regulatory preparation, project coordination, manuscript writing, and educational content creation. His academic interests include integrative dermatology, skin of color, LGBTQ+ health, inflammatory skin disease, and clinician- and community-focused education. He has contributed to numerous accepted and submitted manuscripts, abstracts, presentations, and educational resources, and is committed to advancing accessible, evidence-based dermatologic education for both healthcare professionals and the communities they serve. He has also held leadership roles in grant-supported educational outreach, program development, and policy advocacy.
